Lucas' dark vision for Anakin's absorption by the Dark Side is realised in the upcoming Star Wars Episode III, as shown at the URL below (rushes from principal photography).
Enjoy!

let us console ourselves, the Matrix has us.
digital is a great media format, but can be lousy when you forget actors generally work best acting against stuff that is real rather than bluescreens and eye-line stand-ins.
this pretty much sums up my feelings about going mad in the digital domain:
?I?ve heard the ?Star Wars? people boast about shooting frames that are 97 percent digital, and lo and behold, the movies are soulless,? says John Gaeta,

and despin, what exactly was the 'joke'?

Hey, miker, I read the article. The Matrix is this generations Star Wars and from the sound of it, it should be better than the first. Lets just hope in 20yrs time the Wachowskis don't decide to make prequels or release a special edition Matrix.

All I say about bluescreen work: the earlier and more accomplished actors are more comfortable with bluescreen as they have performed on stage, requiring far more imagination standing in a blak room than standing in (eg) napoleon's actual bedroom

yeah, i guess i agree -- but the nature of multiple takes against a bluescreen is very different to performing on the stage. plus when the set is actually there, you can interact with it more naturally, and even stage plays have more convincing sets and props that blue blocks ... three months in a blue room? that would erode even great actor's ability -- and, it did!
as to the matrix being this generation's star wars -- yup, agree there too, even if i'm from the original 'star wars' generation (gulp).
the current star wars films remind me HOW to make movies.
old school star wars and the matrix remind me WHY i want to make movies.

of course, when I say the current star wars films remind me HOW to make movies, I mean that purely in a technological manner. I don't for a second mean HOW to make GOOD movies .... just what is available to us all as filmmakers.

That's brilliant!
Looks much darker and more entertaining than the previous two films
